Sky Diving Airplane Crashes in Hawaii Killing 11

Tragically, on Friday, June 22, 2019, a twin-engine Beechcraft King Air plane carrying 11 people crashed shortly after take off on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii killing all aboard. The airplane was carrying passengers who were on a sky diving adventure, as well as several employees of the sky diving company. Of the 11 killed, at least 6 of the people on board were employees of the sky-diving company. Oahu Parachute Center is believed to have owned the plane. Casey Williamson, an employee of the company, has been identified as one of those killed.
The airplane crash is being investigated by the National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Patrick Bailey of Bailey & Partners, is an experienced flight instructor and pilot. He has flown the type of aircraft involved in this accident, and he has flown various other types of airplanes in and around Hawaii. He says many factors will be looked at to determine what caused the crash. Some issues that will be looked are the pilot’s experience, maintenance of the aircraft, and weight and balance calculations.
